It occurred to me during Rich Wolski’s keynote at Summit 2009 in Banff that most words have several definitions when you look them up in a dictionary.

So I challenge you to respond to this post and tell me what you think is essential to a cloud (as opposed to a grid).

I’ll use what you come up with as the basis for a “check all that apply”-style poll which I’ll run in iSGTW. Hopefully, a few groupings of characteristics will emerge, which I can develop into several alternate definitions.
