I recommend members of this group also follow Linda Cooper’s blog, Time for a change. Linda writes: “In this blog I suggest that there’s a better way to write a scientific article. Currently, published articles are unnecessarily difficult to read and researchers need to be trained in how to write about their research so that others can understand their articles.”
There are several worked examples on the blog, and related discussion in the comment threads. -

There are Connotea tags for good paper journal club and well written paper
Please add any papers that you condsider to be “good” and/or “well written” to either or both of these Connotea tags. They don’t have to be Nature papers, of course, they can be papers that have been published anywhere in the peer-reviewed literature. -
