A delectable little sci fi story with a distinctly Asimovian flair. Succinct and not overly abstruse – Great read! I, a long term Windows user, could not help laughing out at that cheeky reference to BSOD! Definitely should make an anthology someday, somewhere. Enjoy!

@Mr. Gee. Thank you for the disambiguation.
On the story though, I beg to differ… >:) hehe!
My original review stands, and I shall henceforth keenly follow Mr. RP G’s literary excursions. -
Again, I have to confess that I could not enjoy this story at all.. Is it because I am a Mac user or because I am a Japanese having a different taste of humour??

Nice of you to say so, Kausik.
There are two other Futures of rpg’s somewhere in the archive. I should try and find when they were published, because I can only find an archive for this year. Henry?

Ah! Man of Steel
and
Richard and Kenta, you probably have to be a complete geek to enjoy the story. Sorry.

Heh. This means I’m not a complete geek? Excellent.
It was nicely written anyway. :)

I guess I’m a complete geek, then? I read it before it was submitted and I thought it was funny =) Especially “We didn’t do anything different.”

Richard, I enjoyed both Man of Steel and Freedom fighter. Man of Steel perhaps would immediately draw a comparison of Asimov’s Bicentennial Man, but your take on the issue – particularly the denouement – was pleasant. But I loved the Freedom fighter with its twist in the ending. You have the gift of perspective.
I wonder why I never got to read these earlier. The error is mine. Thank you for putting up the links to these stories.

Thanks!
I’ll have to try and write some more…

Clever. Frighteningly clever. Perfect length, right sort of twist….
I hate you.
