In which I have created a monster: FringeFrivolous is now oversubscribed!
I don’t want to close out any last-minute bloggers who still want to register, but if it is all possible for you to leave behind, just for one night, your beloved other half or plus-one, it would make things more comfortable. It would be a shame if there weren’t enough drinks to go around, for example. I understand that some of you need to include your partners to get the “free pass”, and that’s fine, but if it’s not necessary, do think about it. Thanks! And see you all tomorrow! xJ.
Event description:
Are you a blogger, a former recovering blogger – or just blog-curious? Do you live in the London area or plan to be in town for the Science Online conference? Would you like the chance to meet up with your fellow addicts for a wee libation or three on Friday the 21st of August?
We’re organizing an informal evening get-together for bloggers (and interested hangers-on) on 21st August: the Fringe-Frivolous Unconference. We plan to have two pre-organized topics and two in an ‘unconference’ format: that is, topics to be decided by popular vote on the night. And of course, there will be plenty of time to socialize with your fellow bloggers. See the UnProgramme below for more details.
Specifics: From 7 PM at the Central London offices and roof terrace of Mendeley. Thanks to Mendeley’s investors for their generous sponsorship towards drinks and snacks, and for providing the venue free of charge. We are also grateful to Victor Henning of Mendeley for proposing the idea.
Address: 9 Back Hill, London; nearest Tube, Farringdon; walking distance from Chancery Lane and Russell Square.
