This past Spring we hosted our fourth annual Georgia Glycoscience Symposium, a meeting that focussed on biology and technology of glycosaminoglycans, including low molecular weight heparins. The meeting concluded with a panel discussion on problems in characterizing glycosaminoglycans, something that emerged as an important issue following the contamination of therapeutic heparin supplies worldwide.
