Spin-Labeled Analogs of Sugar Nucleotides – Structural probes of Glycosyltransferases
Many of us make specialized reagents for use in our own research. These may be useful to others in the Consortium. Some of those that we have made are CMP-carboxyTEMPO, GDP-TEMPO and UMP-TEMPO. These are useful relaxation reagents for NMR experiments that can give long range estimates of distances (10-20A) between a sugar-nucleotide binding site and NMR observable sites in an appropriate glycosyltransferase. The following publications give an idea of how we have used them: PMID 18547528 , PMID 17462576 . We would be curious to know if others might find these useful.
