Reagents available

It would be very useful if subgroup members could list reagents that they would be willing to share with other CFG members, such as antibodies, recombinant proteins, interesting cell lines, knockout mice, transgenic mice etc.

For example, my lab has a panel of human and mouse siglec-Fc chimeras, a panel of mAbs and pAbs to human and mouse siglecs, a panel of CHO cells stably expressing siglecs as well as a range of other molecules expressed on the cell surface.

    • Hi all,

We are happy to supply test doses of galectin-1 (1-3 mg) for interested investigators. We can also consider supplying other recombinant galectins (gal-9 and several chimeric constructs we have made) if we have them available. We are always happy to supply cDNA and a purification protocol to those who would like to make their own galectins (it’s fun and easy!).

    • We can share
selectin KO mice (P, E, L, EPL, EP)
      PSGL-1 KO mice
      genotyping protocols
blocking mAbs to mouse P-, E-selectin
plasmids for human PSGL-1 (various versions)

Some things need approval by original authors.

    • An excellent resource for getting plasmids with no strings attached (other than simplified MTAs in some cases) is addgene. It is a non-profit which collects plasmids from scientists and distributes them at cost. We have deposited several of our plasmids for the Sulfs and autotaxin. Full descriptions of the plasmids are given. Addgene is extremely well organized. If there is an MTA involved, they will administer it. We have also obtained a plasmid through them (a lentivirus vector) with no hassles at all. I would encourage members of this subgroup to submit published plasmids to this service.

    • We have polyclonal rabbit anti-human DC-SIGN (cross-reactive with human DC-SIGNR) as raw serum (inc.pre-bleed) and also Protein G purified IgG fractions. They have been raised against purified soluble recombinant extracellular domains.

We have a growing range of purified proteins and polyclonal antisera for rodent and human complement research, especially for early components and soluble regulators.

In addition, we routinely generate biotinylated and Alexa-labelled soluble DC-SIGN and DC-SIGNR tetrameric extracellular domains.

Happy to share all proteins and antibodies.
