As many of you are aware, the TED conference has become arguably the most influential platform a scientist can present their world-changing ideas today. See Bonnie Bassler’s talk on quorum sensing as an example, or Paul Stamets on how mushrooms can save the world.

In the 20+ year history of the conference and thousands of talks given, I only know of one talk touching on science of cancer.

I wanted to give you a heads up that one of the ten questions the program committee for TED Global next year is considering is “Are we winning the war on cancer?” If you think you have what it takes to give a great TED talk like Bassler or Stamets, or know of someone who can, I strongly encourage you to recommend that person as a speaker:

Recommend a TED speaker

Note that the question (“Are we winning the war on cancer?”) is not what you need to talk about, that’s just a placeholder for the Session that will have talks related to cancer. These talks will be all over the map, from science to philosophy of science to public policy to economics, etc. Think big, give a bold talk and your scientific life will go supernova in 18 minutes or less…
