Recently I saw a video of Kenji Doya, a Mathematical Engineer working on Computational models of learning.

I think this video is noteworthy, if only because it captures a model of the catecholine system as it affects low level motivation in the Reinforcement learning system.
His work suggests that the Basal Ganglia might have a role in Model building, allowing the brain to Learn using a model-based learning style. The anterior striatum, he suggests, may have a role in the selection of models. While the posterior striatum, may have a role in trial and error learning.
While this is not the role my model suggested for the basal ganglia, the role I suggested, might be a sub-function, and thus this model is compatible with my model.
