Does anyone here know which software can be use for draw circle genome map under Window XP system, I want to map 50 genes that we interested on a circle genome map, it’s for publication purpose.

      there are a few tools you can use to draw genetic maps.

      I used Vector NTI (Invitrogen) a lot, you can get a free 30-day trial for it.

      Free software you can install on your PC is pDRAW32.
      It’s not the prettiest tool, but it gets the job done.

      Finally there is Savvy and Savage plasmid, they are online tools so it doesn’t really matter what OS you have on your computer. Again a bit basic.

      The last 2 are for plasmid drawing, but if you only want to draw a circle with the genes that’s enough.

      I’m sure EMBOSS has a drawing software, but I never managed to get my head around it.

    • Almost forgot, there is also CLC Bio that lets you try their software for 4 weeks before you have to buy a license. Very nice graphics that you can export. Make sure you get the right software though!

      I understand CLC Sequence Viewer is free, just check it does what you need.
