Hi guys,
At the “Meet the Author” event featuring Ron Cohen, an attendee asked if Ron could supply his reading list of books for those looking to learn more about starting up a biotech firm. I’ve pasted it below. Hopefully you get this before you head off to the beach this summer. Because to me, nothing says summer like a well-worn copy of “Growing Pains: Transitioning from an Entrepreneurship to a Professionally Managed Firm.”
Ron Cohen’s list.
• Alternate Careers in Science: Leaving the Ivory Tower (Cynthia Robbins-Roth, Ph.D.)
• From Alchemy to IPO: The Business of Biotechnology (Cynthia Robbins-Roth, Ph.D.)
• The Billion Dollar Molecule (Barry Werth)
• Gene Dreams (Robert Teitelman)
• Growing Pains: Transitioning from an Entrepreneurship to a Professionally Managed Firm (Eric G. Flamholtz, Yvonne Randle)
And just FYI, Cynthia Robbins-Roth still writes on the biotech industry, most notably as a columnist for the daily publication BioWorld. (bioworld.com) Though I believe most of her content on that site is subscription protected, in which case I’ve helped you not at all.
Happy reading,
Brady Huggett

Thank you, that is very helpful. Will you be doing another event of this type in the New York area?

Yup, we’re planning the next event now (the actual date depends on the author’s availability). I’ll keep the group informed through this forum.
