The rise of energy and industrial biotech

Seems to me energy has been a dominant theme so far at BIO: lots of sessions (many so far have been well attended) about ethanol, biofuels, energy crops, and moving beyond just ethanol and biofuels. How much can we credit Bush for this? Any thoughts on this? What have been other major themes?
