There is currently an open spot for a PhD student in the Cytogenetics Department at the Institute for Biology. The position is available immediately and has an expected duration of three years. The goal of the work is to establish a system to quantitatively monitor the movement of interphase chromatin in the developing C. elegans embryo. This research will entail molecular biology, micromanipulation of C. elegans, live-cell microscopy, and quantitative analysis of imaging data.
