Hi,
Is it necessary to have a PhD to work in the editorial team?

It depends on the particlar job. Editors who assess manuscripts for publication have PhDs and additional research experience, and so do most, but not all, commissioning editors (editors who ask scientists to write reviews, news and views, and other types of article, and edit those articles).
Subeditors and copyeditors sometimes but by no means always have a PhD. These are excellent jobs to consider if you don’t have a PhD but you have a good scientific education, love science, and have good literacy skills. -
Thanks Maxine
