What do people in this group think about an adult stem’s proposed ability to transdifferentiate (eg hematopoietic stem cell contributing to muscle lineages)?

“Discovery consists of seeing that everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought”-Albert SzentGyorgy. The cell-aggregates may vary from pure lymphocytic to lymphomonocytoid or an admixure of lympho-monocytoid-granulocytic forms with many cells in various phases of transition. The sequence of morphological changes in the lectin stimulated lymphocyte is as follows. The Hof and the golgi zone not only show enlargement{ in the lymhocyte which has by now shown appreciable increase in cell volume},but also reveals clear zone in the cytoplasm associated with an indentation of the nucleus which progressively deepens, the nucleus becoming eccentric in position, eventually assuming a crescentic or horseshoe appearence. The nuclear chromatin paripassu becomes open and euchromatic.Specific ctoplasmic granulation, either neutrophilic or eosinophilic makes its appearence, followed by segmentation.Cell with typical granular cytoplasm but wih lymphocytic nuclei as observed by Bloom are also seen. The granules stain positive for peroxidase.
