Back to the Big Bang: The Large Hadron Collider
Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to hear the very latest about the CERN Large Hadron Collider directly from those at the forefront of the project! It is free to attend and followed by a drinks reception.
Organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Physics and designed to be especially relevant for engineering and physics professionals at the start of their careers, you will hear from Lyn Evans, the LHC Project Leader. He will describe some of the technical innovation and challenges in the design and construction of the Collider.
Plus Dr Tara Shears will unravel some of the mysteries of particle physics that the LHC has been designed to help investigate, including the search for the Higgs boson, the problem of antimatter and the search for dark matter.
The talk takes place on Tuesday, 19 May at 6:00 pm at the IET, Savoy Place, London. Book your place online at http://www.theiet.org/young-professionals or telephone +44 (0) 1438 767 343 for more details.
