Documentary about scientists/musicians

I’ve just announced a project I have had to put on the back burner for way too long: I am planning a documentary about people who are both scientists and musicians. In January I will start the research interviews, which basically involves talking to anyone who is active in any sort of science and any sort of music, at any point in their life. That’s very broad, but since part of the message I want to convey is that this is a common combination, I have to find all the different ways in which people combine the two.
I’ll probably contact people who are members of this forum at some point to talk. If you’re really eager to talk to me, or if you have any suggestions, you can also drop me a line.
I started a blog for the project over here and on my NN blog I give some more background on how I got this idea.
I’ll happily take any suggestions for interviewees, angles of approach, grants, or enthusiastic crew (any geographic location at this point, since I don’t have subjects yet, but might decide on subjects based partly on where there are people with cameras.)

Please check out Rock-It Science, a music festival featuring scientists who play music and rock star guests, including Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Band), Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart), Rufus Wainwright, Steve Wynn (Dream Syndicate), Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and more.

Great idea Eva, how you will fit the topic into one doco I’m not sure though!?
Another aspect of this topic is the “influence” of science on music. e.g. have you seen this recent Radiohead clip made using laser scanning rather than traditional light collecting cameras?
