Hi all, I am looking to set up a study group to review NEURON in Boston, but over the web as well. THe goal would be to learn to implement and replicate some simple published models. If there are experienced users it would be great to get some input too. Mark.

I may be interested in a more broad “simulation software group”, rather than focusing on a particular one. Different software out there have different pros and cons and may come handy under different circumstances

I agree—Pros and cons sound good. One issue I am thinking about is large scale simulations vs. local neurons vs. metabolism…

Well, with respect to “large scale simulations vs. local neurons vs. metabolism”, some developers (that are oriented around single-cell simulations) started to include “hooks” for integration with other main-stream software that are commonly used for large-scale programming and simulation (most notably with Matlab). It might be a good idea to look into this.
