The promise of 1,000 dollars human genome has raised hopes for effective therapies of complex diseases based on individually-tailored molecular diagosis.
So far, research on personalized molecular diagnosis has largely focused on pharmacogenomic studies but successful achievements in this area have been hindered by the complexity of the human interactome system.
Adopting a “global systems biology” approach can complement the procedure of “personalized molecular diagnosis” by means of integrating “omic” data, thus leading to reasonable prediction of drug intervention outcome in each specific patient.
