There are a number of other visualization conferences out there (IASTED, VisNet)—has anyone gone to any of these?
Also, a number of bioinformatics conferences will take papers on novel visualization techniques in biomedicine (PSB, ISMB”, iCBBE). Has anyone found the visualization tracks at these to be especially interesting?

The 12th International Conference on Information Visualization (IV08) will take place in London from July 9th – 11th. Tutorials will run on July 8th.
A symposium on “Information Visualization in Biomedical Informatics” will be part of the conference and might be of particular interest to you.

The third see conference, in Germany, looks pretty good, and might be appropriate for your list.

Infoaesthetics has a similar post on upcoming conferences.
They include the upcoming Graphing Social Patterns West. I don’t see too many vis-oriented sessions there, but GSPW takes place in conjunction with Etech next week (March 3-6) in San Diego, CA. Vis-oriented sessions at Etech include:
- Stamen on Web Native Information Visualization
- Eric Rodenbeck’s keynote, Information Visualization is a Medium
- Daniel Marcus hosts a panel on Brain Imaging for Fun and Profit
- J. C. Herz hosting Web Visualization: Beyond RSS Lava Lamps
- Terry Jones on Antigenic Cartography: Visualizing Viral Evolution for Influenza Vaccine Design
I’ll probably be attending a couple of these. Anyone else going?
