Dear friends and colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new version of the SciDev.Net website, with a fresh appearance and improved navigation.

http://www.scidev.net

New editorial features include:

Topic gateways
The website now has six topic gateways, and over 80 sub-topics, making it easier to find information relating to your interests.

Topic gateways are as follows:

AGRICULTURE & ENVIRONMENT
http://www.scidev.net/agri-env

CLIMATE CHANGE & ENERGY
http://www.scidev.net/climate-energy

HEALTH
http://www.scidev.net/health

NEW TECHNOLOGIES
http://www.scidev.net/newtech

SCIENCE COMMUNICATION

SCIENCE INNOVATION & POLICY
http://www.scidev.net/scipolicy

New language portals
We have introduced comprehensive language portals containing the headlines and brief summaries of all articles posted on the website in Chinese, French and Spanish, as well as English. And we’ve established a coding system to make it clearer what languages our articles are available in. We are now working towards introducing more Chinese, French and Spanish content.

Commenting on articles & contacting the network
Our new comment facility means you can now express your views on individual articles and respond to (and get in touch with) other users who have commented too.

Searching the website
An improved search function allows you to search by keyword, author, organisation, region, topic and sub-topic.

Sharing articles
You can now quickly and easily share articles with friends and colleagues using not only our existing forwarding service, but also using social bookmarking options such as Del.icio.us, Digg, and Facebook.

Web feeds
Individual RSS feeds are now available to feed selected region or topic related content direct to your website or desktop.

There are many other enhancements, so please explore the website.

We hope you like the modifications that we have made. If you have any feedback please email us at info@scidev.net. We will be keen to hear what you think of the changes.

There will be, inevitably, a few initial teething problems. So please bear with us as we attempt to sort these out. Do let us know if you encounter any problems that you feel may not have come to our attention.

Kind regards,

Mun-Keat
