I don’t know who else (besides me and Grrl) are planning to hang around the UK after the conference, but if you are, I’ve got a couple of things planned for the following days. Anyone who wants to come along (or suggest other things for me to do) is welcome.

Sunday, 31 August: Go to Down House
Monday, 1 September: Be a groundling at the 1930 performance of Midsummer’s Night’s Dream at the Globe.

    • If anyone would be interested in visiting Nature (the journal) and seeing round the office, please let me know. It won’t be on the Sunday as I’ll be having a day off (I’ve recently been to Down house and thought it was great), but we could arrange it for the Monday or Tuesday if anyone is around and interested. Drop a comment here if so, or email me at m.clarkeATnature.com or via N Network supermail.

    • Maxine, perhaps I could begin my Friday science tour at the Nature offices. There’s other stuff round here, like the Wellcome Collection, so it might be a good starting point for those who are interested.

    • Sounds like a plan. I’ll be happy to tag along. :)

    • Sid, I’ve added you to the list of people coming on the tour. I haven’t yet finalised where we’ll be going, but it should involve a few behind-the-scenes tours.

    • I got a flavour of the tour (as well as Matt’s extensive London knowledge)in a small portion of town around UCL on Tuesday night as we were returning from the pub night. Those of you participating are certainly in for a treat…

    • Ha, I forgot about that. And I didn’t even mention that your hotel (which would be just off the bottom left of this image) is built over land where the first ever passenger train was demonstrated.

    • Yes, Matt, that sounds like a good idea, to start the tour at Nature. I’d better sign up to it then!

    • Excellent idea to start at Nature.
