the Pitt Rivers talk has attracted a lot of interest, the kind we need to give the society momentum. Can anyone suggest a similar idea to follow up? Who do you want to meet?

Postdocs (and other researchers) are very good at complaining about things that good be organized better. Although this is very important, and we should actively try to improve things, I wanted to start this group with a positive forum. What do you think is good about Oxford? Punting and strawberries, pubs and beer? The closeness to London? Academic prestige?
