Inclusion in PubMed

Is there any chance of PubMed covering Nature Precedings? Is there any ongoing or planned effort by NPG towards this?

PubMed does accept non-peer-reviewed publications.

    • Hi Santosh—Unfortunately it’s unclear when (or if) PubMed might index preprints. There is a long-standing debate regarding gray literature and PubMed (and PubMed Central), which, as you might have guessed, is highly political. Rob Kling provides a nice history of this debate in his article, The Remarkable Transformation of E-Biomed into PubMed Central

I suspect that the non-peer-reviewed articles included in PubMed still receive editorial review. For example, New York Times articles are included in PubMed (try searching: “The New York times”[Jour] or “Washington Post”[Jour]).
