Hi,
Thought this Forum may be interested in some advance info about Crucible – NESTAs programme for early career researchers.
Application to the programme opens on 22 March and closes on 30 April.
NESTA is teh National Endowment fro Science, Technology and the Arts.

Crucible exposes 30 early-career researchers to great minds, inspiring speakers and creative thinking for three weekend meetings. Crucible aims to inspire you and allow you to see the bigger picture. You will get an insight into science policy and the media and consider how your work will contribute to the challenges facing society today.

Part of the focus for this years Crucible is interdisciplinarity. The programme allows you to form relationships with researchers from different disciplines which will develop into longer term collaborations.

If you are interested please contact me at crucible@nesta.org.uk or go to Crucible 07

Interdisciplinarity is a theme that NESTA is very interested in. Interdisciplinary research doesnt seem like something that’s easy to do in the UK - especially for early-career researchers. I would be interested to hear what people think Universities and other institutions and organisations like NESTA should be doing to promote easier collaboration between disciplines.
