Magazines to do with PhD stuff

I’ve been involved in a couple of magazines via UK GRAD that might be of interest. The first, LonDoc, was set up for PhD students in London. We’ve recently been given the go-ahead to take this national as GRAD Britain, and the first issue should be out end of March. Although mostly targeted at PhD’s there will be bits in there that are relevant to early career researchers. It’s also quite funny in places.
One other place you might want to check out is Prospects which have a magazine with postgraduate jobs in. You can also sign up to receive their magazine which has various articles on career stuff as well as lots and lots of ads telling you that you ought to join the military.

Paul, I think we met during one of the feedback sessions Li Kim ran for this site. Looking at your post I can’t believe you didn’t mention the career magazine on naturejobs.com ! You may have heard we’re running a career event later in the year which will give information on the types of topics you have discussed. I’d be interested to hear what kind of speakers you’d like to hear from as we’re in the process of putting this together.

Andrew’s so right that I’ve turned his comment into a whole notice of its own…

Doh. I’m a psychologist so all our jobs come via either the British Psychological Society, NHS jobs, or www.jobs.ac.uk. Sorry!
