The event will be held at a bar that hasn’t yet chosen its name (it is having its soft opening" with the nyc NN group, but will either be called “Dive 106” or “Amsterdam Dive”). The location is "938 Amsterdam Avenue at W 106th street. The group that operates several different Dive Bars in New York City owns the establishment. Looks like the 1 train is the closest.

I missed the last one, but am looking forward to seeing everybody there. Thanks to Fred Palm from Columbia for helping to set this one up.

    • i’m there.

    • For anyone interested, the nyc get-together was successful, however we did not have the numbers that we had at the first 2 meetings. There were around 20 people in total, most of whom stuck around for a few hours. So unlike the other events, we had a lower turnout, but almost no turnover. I guess that is good. It certainly helped that the bar was giving out free drinks at times.

Once again, I was amazed by the spectrum of people in attendance. Where else could I have been holding a conversation about the politics of British glaciology with a couple neuroscientists, a computer scientist, an immunologist, and (of course), a glaciologist?? Over beer, no less!!

The next gathering, come this July, will likely be in TriBeCa (or SoHo), so stay tuned…
