Hey folks,
On May 9, I will speak at the AAAS Forum On Science And Technology Policy about ‘Science and the New Media’ so I’ve decided to bring readers, science writers, and bloggers—and I want you!
Here’s the plan: I’m going to invite readers to comment on my blog, The Intersection:
http://scienceblogs.com/intersection/2008/04/welcome_to_the_aaas_forum_assignment_to_readers.php, with thoughts on the topic and I will be showing this post at the Forum live online. For ideas, consider these questions from the program:
- New media addressing S&T issues – what/where/who are they?
- Who do they see as their primary audiences?
- What do they try to convey (or try not to convey)?
- What do they see as missing from the current dialogues on S&T and policy?
- How are they addressing those elements?
- What are the new media missing?
I’d love if you would participate and comment and encourage others in our network to do so as well – I think commentary from all sorts of science communicators would be really interesting and hope you’ll consider taking part in the interactive discussion. http://scienceblogs.com/intersection/2008/04/welcome_to_the_aaas_forum_assignment_to_readers.php
Thank you,
Sheril
