    • Thank you for highlighting our little group here on the main Nature India forum, Matt.

We are indeed small, but growing, and would love to have more participants. So we invite other Nature India readers to drop by the forums, and join if you have an abiding interest in ecology and evolutionary biology (in an Indian context, of course). I’ve just launched a journal club (first paper is about the recent discovery of the world’s oldest rabbits in India), and it would be great to have feedback and contributions from others.

    • Hi Madhusudan,

Indeed heartening to see your group. I would love to hear of the exploits of Indian biologists and ecologists here. I would be happy to highlight some of the work on the Nature India site too. I will visit your group occasionally but you are free to tip me off about the latest happening in your disciplines at s.priyadarshini@nature.com.

    • This subject is not simple when it comes to operators and moderators. I would like to suggest both of them to read a book edited by Samar Singh when it comes to Indian context. The name of this book is “Ecological Security”
      The foundation of SustainableDevelopment

    • I’m a bit mystified by Dr. Yadav’s comment about the subject being not so simple for operators and moderators…?

Samar Singh’s book sounds interesting, but I’m not sure it is relevant to the scope of the EEB India forum. Our focus is on more basic evolutionary and ecological research. Samar Singh, I’m sure, has much of value to say about applications of ecological principles towards sustainable development, especially in the policy arena given his long career developing and implementing policy in the Indian Administrative Service. He was not an ecologist, however, and I don’t know that there is much basic research in the book, at least going by the few descriptions and table of contents available online. I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on a copy.

    • Thank you very much for correction. I thought you were talking about Indian Ecology. In India even a Supreme Court lawer talks science. You are very much precise. I withdraw my statement.
