I have been in the pharmaceutical industry here in India for 8 years now. There has been growh in the private sector with good renumeration. there are at least 20 major players, with many <span class="caps">CRO</span> into basic biological research and clinical research and drug development. I have had this question from my colleagues who are abroad, many are waiting to see a clearer pciture. The government sponsored institutes are still to catch up; it has the potential to provide huge oppertunity; but for some time to come they are unlikely to offer a decent renumeration.</p> <p>But non-the-less it may be good to approach with a good CV and prior dialogue. It may be important to have several options and contacts on hand before deciding the plunge. This is true when you are in a senior position becasue oppertunities are still limited.
