I have a Masteral degree in Biochemistry and I am passionate about metabolic researches, drug discovery, or any other related fields. I am interested to engage in metabonomics/ metabolomics research. I really wanted to have a research experience for this even at an entry level. I cannot qualify for a position in UK as a research assistant because I do not have research experience after graduation. But I know that everybody will understand that nobody was born with such experience and expertise. I really do not know how to start my career as a researcher. I want to learn metabolomics because I want to have further studies on this in my Ph.D.

hi maria, are u from a commonwealth country? if yes then i would advise you to apply for a commonwealth fellowship which will allow you to pursue PhD in UK. Other than that i dont know if your country has a Gates fellowship for doing research in Cambridge. Other than that you can directly apply to various labs of your interest and try to talk to the PI directly and see if he can arrange for a fellowship for you. Good luck

Hello Rajat Roy, Thank you very much for that piece of information. I am not from a commonwealth country. As of now, I am searching for a position of research assistant at various labs in UK. I am hoping that I will be lucky enough to be accepted and start my career as a researcher.
