Welcome! Let’s start with the obvious: the introduction. Any new members of this group are invited to introduce themselves here. Obviously, in an international group like this one, it is especially of interest what your home country is, and in what country you are currently living (or planning to go).
My name is Louic Vermeer. I am a Dutch PhD student who has been living in Toulouse (France) for 1.5 years now (which is great!). From June until September I will be visiting research groups in Southampton (UK) and Wageningen (The Netherlands). Like many PhD students, I have also attendend several international conferences. For my thesis I am working with solid-state NMR to determine the dynamics of membrane proteins, complemented by other biophysical methods.
Feel free to contact me about my experince in France (or for anything else for that matter, except spam :)
Welcome, I hope this group will be useful and fun!

Hullo! I guess I’ll be the second to introduce myself. I’m Maria, a 4th-year Indonesian grad student at the University of Chicago, USA. I look at the role of corepressor proteins in the pathogenesis of diabetes and obesity. I’m still ruminating about post-grad plans but it’ll probably entail returning to Asia to gain more experience. My ultimate lofty goal/fantasy? To start and run a successful biotech company and take over the world evil laugh
Just kidding …
Gimme a shout if anyone is dropping by Chicago.
