Irrespective of the research we are doing here in IGIB, in your opinion – What should be the next priority area with respect to both global and Indian senario ?

    • i think a few important priorities will be genome-wide studies, structural biology, protein folding dynamics,AIDS research, comparative genomics and structural biology.in addition, research based on diseases will always be at the helm as most basic research is either helpful or aimed at treating diseases.

    • Dear Amit,

I agree with you and importantly, you have summarised the future trends in science. But I would love to know what IGIB can (should!) focus on near future.

    • hi kangkan,
while you are correct that i have mentioned about the future in biological research, i still feel that these are the areas in which igib can and should have the cutting edge.though i dont know much but i think atleast bioinfo /genome informatics at igib ranks amongst the best in country.

    • Dear Amit,

Its really nice to find your strong and positive attitute towards the IGIB science quality. I do agree with you in this matter. But I personally believe that with some more coordination (statistical, etc) we can achieve even better. Hope we can achieve that soon.
      :)
