How to connect to the rest of the community?

A lot of people are interested in the effects of technology on the environment: from the big-scale of coal mining and internal combustion, to the effects of heavy metals in our computer circuit boards, to the way that we remove arsenic from our drinking water. What is your idea of environmental technology, and how would you get more people discussing the links between energy and the environment?

I have a feeling we need a network of new thinkers, ready to dissolve some of the older socio-economic dogma from industrial development and the overblown technocratic hype from the chemical revolution. A new generation of scientists and engineers is required to fulfill our transition to the next energy economy. A new mindset is required to make technologies that help provide clean air and water to the global public. And these technologies will be the new markets for businesses in the world.

So again, how would you make connections to foster the next wave of development in environmental technology?
