I would like to invite you to add your favourite databases into MetaBase (the database database):

This MediaWiki based service allows users to freely add, edit, discuss, annotate and categorize databases of relevance to the biological community.

I think MetaBase (or something similar) is a fundamental requirement for the current bioinformatics community. As the number and variety of databases continues to grow (not to mention the increase in the amount of data they contain), it becomes ever more important to systematically organise these key resources. MetaBase is one way to share user contributed information about databases.

The site is still ‘very beta’ (and fixing that is eating up all of my spare time!), but the core functionality is stable.
