This should be of interest to musical scientists…
Sara Abdulla who heads up _Nature_’s Opinion team has just started a forum topic on the science and music essay series in the journal.
"_"This weekly series":http://www.nature.com/nature/focus/scienceandmusic/ explores what the latest scientific research has to say about music – what it is, why we make it, how we make it, why we listen to it and how it is changing. Nine opinion pieces from leading world experts working at the interface between science and music discuss how the latest developments in physics, psychology, materials science, information science, neuroscience and anthropology might give us new answers to these ancient questions._"
I quite like the essay which discusses how music works, breaking it down and questioning if meaning exists in music.
Further discussion to be had in Nature News and Opinion…
