    • Harvard doctor leaves for New Orleans

      Wednesday, 15 Aug 2007 - 15:27 GMT

We ran a story recently about a former Tulane University engineering professor who left New Orleans and has landed at MIT.

WBUR this morning interviewed a Harvard professor going in the opposition direction. Benjamin Sachs, the chair of Harvard Medical School’s OB/GYN department, is moving to Tulane to be dean of its medical school. During the interview, he put a call out to other medical professionals to come with him, because it was a chance to make a difference.

He made an interesting commentary about the Boston medical community: there are more doctors per square inch here than anywhere else…why not go to a place where you can really make a difference?

Has anyone heard of any scientists moving to New Orleans? Or has most of the flow been outward?
