    • NERD club launches

      Wednesday, 16 May 2007 - 15:50 GMT

I think this group gets the prize for cleverest (or corniest) acronym name: the New England RNA Data Club, or NERD. Alex Palazzo of Harvard, one of the founders and organizers, writes on his blog about how the first meeting went last night. Sounds like it was a success. I hope that NERD will have a presence on Nature Network Boston, perhaps as a New England RNA group?!

Alex talked a bit about how he and the organizers were afraid that research groups wouldn’t want to share data because the field is so competitive, but looks like they’ve gotten a good response. Glad to hear that community won over competition!
