On the homepage of the gambling website bodog.com, it’s very clear how you can place your bets: on sports, horses, casino games or poker. Less clear is that you can also bet on who will be the next president of Harvard. According to an article from today’s Globe, about 600 bets have been placed on people like Steve Hyman, Harvard’s provost, Elena Kagan, the dean of Harvard Law School and Lawrence Bacow, president of Tufts.

While there’s some evidence that online betting can be a better predictor than polling in political elections, we’ll probably have to wait until early next year before we’ll find out how accurate these presidential bets are.
