  I’m the editor of Nature Network Boston. We’ve run a few biotech-related stories that might be relevant to this discussion. We published a profile of a company called Magen Biosciences and one on Ensemble Discovery.

  We also did a story about careers in biotech.

  If there are any companies you are interested in learning more about, suggest them here and maybe we’ll do an article on them.

  So here is another idea: In a recent Biotech club meeting some of the members mentioned an interesting idea I would like to bring to fruition if there is enough interest. The idea is to form small groups within the Biotech Club of perhaps around 6 member each and run a 6 week study session, where each week the group would meet and one of the members would be responsible for presenting a biotech company profile. This is similar to the case-study group sessions that the Harvard Consulting club runs. We could then post the presented materials online, here at our Nature Network group site. This way we could gather information quickly and members can access the material presented in all of the groups, not just the one they are in. Thoughts members?

  Good call bringing up this idea on NN, Paula. To keep everyone updated on how this group is moving forward, here are some updates about what we have done since Paula posted this topic.
  Paula, Ryan Anderson (are you out there?) and I have met a couple times and have put some ideas together about what we and others might like to hear about with regard to company profiles. We have also set about contacting some companies to see what we need to do to coordinate meetings with them. Later next week we are planning on meeting with Jess Mar and others and hopefully have our first company profile discussions in May.
