Description

The Neukom Institue at Dartmouth College proudly announces the Human Algorithm Conference on May 9 & 10, 2008.

What makes us human? What gives us our powers of thought, of language, of planning, of perception? The intricacies of the human brain are now being looked at examined from a multi-dimensional approach bridging computation, neuroscience, linguistics, philosophy, mathematics, and psychology. The Human Algorithm conference includes prestigious renowned figures Daniel Dennett from Tufts University, Patricia Churchland from UCSD and Salk Institute, and Marc Hauser from Harvard University. These prominent minds, along with distinguished Dartmouth faculty, will examine the most cutting edge knowledge of how humans think, how our brains make mistakes, our history, present, and where we might be headed in the future. Speakers will discuss work currently underway to computationally analyze the rules that govern the human brain and human behavior.
