Description

Plants are the engine of life, converting radiant solar energy into the compound that makes the world run
sugar. Understanding this process is key in two of the major issues facing our ever-increasing global community
the production of biofuels and food. Harvard Professor of Forestry and plant physiologist Michele Holbrook will provide an introduction to the evolutionary history and biochemistry of photosynthesis for a broader discussion of using plants as a source of liquid fuels.
