It appears that (at the moment) one cannot post an event at the Energy and Environmental Technology group site, due to its status as a global forum. So heads up all, there will be a solar conference in Ohio tomorrow! OK, most of us won’t be able to go, but it’s got a great logo!

That logo seems a bit bizarre to me. It was originally used to symbolize the power of women in the workforce (during war time). I’m all for empowering women, but what does that have to do with solar power? Definitely eye-catching though, which I guess is the point of a logo.

I totally agree—it is a bizarre logo, considering the former context of Rosie the Riveter (memorial site).

This logo speaks volumes for our national obsession to recycle images and catch phrases from history to suit an ideal (or commercialization) of the moment. I believe I have seen Rosie used on many a t-shirt for far less ideal purposes.
