Diana Sudyka for her wonderfully whimsical image of myself as an habitat for finches and for her support for the Project to build a replica of my alma maritima HMS Beagle.
Ms. Sudyka has a fascination for birds and as one who always struggled with illustration, I can only recommend a visit to her Tiny Aviary. Readers will remember that one of the many significant steps on the road to formulating my theory of Natural Selection was the realization by Mr John Gould, a bird illustrator of exceptional ability who remarked that the Galapagos bird skins (rather ill-labelled by myself, I am ashamed to admit) had the look of distinct species.
Lovely picture. It has a touch of the Edward Lear about it.
