A few days ago, I commented on the earliness of spring in our little spot in the south of England. This week so far, however, we have been having some serious weather with rains and winds and trees blowing over. Okay, we don’t have monsoons or blizzards or hurricanes or floods, but this is a little mild backwater where nothing really happens so every fallen daffodil counts!

This photo taken near work demonstrates yet again the absolute uselessness of umbrellas in anything stronger than a gently shower.

And here are two websites devoted to the real climate change thing:

Our table tennis table blew over in the night, and squashed a camellia bush, just coming into bloom. What a wind—that table is heavy!

Up here in Cromer we had incredible rain on Monday since when the weather has been brighter – but the rain has been overtaken by winds, rather stronger than we usually get (and Cromer is typically very windy). Nothing blown over – yet – but the whitecaps on the sea this morning were something to behold.
