Dear Mom,
It may surprise you to learn that up until now, every blog entry that I have written has started out as a rough hand-written draft. While I still think that the rate determining part of any writing (for me, anyway) is finding ideas and deciding on how to arrange them coherently, it may save me a few minutes being able to type them up directly.
To this end, Alain has bought me this really cool little PDA, and I am using it to write this letter. The program that I am using is called ‘Word Mobile’ and has a predictive text thingy such that if I type, for example, ‘prog’ it will helpfully suggest ‘program’ in a little bubble above the keyboard. I can then tap on the suggested word and it inserts it! It mostly suggests rather longer words so if I used it all the time it would create rubbish.
Let me demonstrate:
Letter slight don’t little.
(Let sleeping dogs lie.)
Times island often thingy essential.
(Time is of the essence.)
Notice that it has learnt a new word: thingy!
Yours etc,
Bronwen
PS Work really hectic for me as well at the moment. But more about that later…
