Currently trying out Twitter, so if anyone has an interest in what I’m up to (probably til I get bored with it) I’m on their as brianclegg

Anyone else want to remind me if you’re twittering?

It’s a slippery slope, Brian. No offense but I’m staying well clear.

None taken, Cath. I tried Jaiku a while ago, which was very similar and I lasted about 1 week. Slightly more interest in this as I can integrate it into Firefox, but probably will give up.

I think the mild appeal is that when you spend most of your working hours on your own, a slight sense of other people doing their thing might be quite interesting… we’ll see.

No point me joining Twitter as the hands of the Gee clock point forever to mortal peril at the beach.

I have an account there, which has two spikes on it: one when I first joined (day 1 of twittr). After a few days I got bored as the site always crashed, though a few of my good blogging friends had also joined up and I believe like it. Then, after ages, I saw Attila Csordas’s post about biotecher, so I visited for that, but again, found it all too unfocused and did not feel the conversations “worked”.
Recently, some of those same biotcecher people who are always riding the cusp of these trends ;-), ie Euan, Deepack, Neil Saunders, Attila, Pierre and others, have formed a group on Friendfeed, which I have joined as it integrates into google reader. I find that far more user-friendly, although I still don’t follow 98 per cent of the conversations. I can conclude, therefore, that in Friendfeed I can use it easily but not understand what is going on, and in Twittr I can’t use it easily and also not understand what is going on (in the science discussions, the non-technical ones among my book blogger friends are easier).

I just found you, and clicked on “follow” as that seemed to be the only way to connect. I seem to be here.
I don’t get it though, the “recent activity” page is confusingly bizarre.
