      An Idea Generator!

Most high impact papers are characterized by its funny titles. Putting some daily terms such as car, recorder, or necklace into a pair of quotation marks makes your paper even more attractive and likely to be publish on such high impact journals as Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (for those who don’t know what on earth is ACIE), Adv. Mater., or even Nature. Examples that I know include: a “molecular necklace” on Nature (10.1038/356325a0), a “maple leaf” on ACIE (10.1002/anie.200502847), and also the “muscle” on Adv. Mater. (10.1002/adma.200390066).

So why not a “comedic torture instrument’ next? Or maybe a “mobile rotating toy”. A nano-”luxurious easy-to-assemble vehicle” must be the next VIP paper on ACIE, I’m sure.

Layman: Mr. Chemist, how to fabricate a “geometric illuminating clothing”? Chemist: Try electrospinning some conjugated copolymer, maybe…

Thanks Amanda for sharing the stuff.

Fun post. We’ve been trying to brainstorm for the title of our next paper, but I doubt that any journal would accept “Is that a phosphorylation in your binding pocket, or are you just happy to see me?” :-)

Cool title, very suitable for a Nature feature article!
